How to Cancel
You can’t cancel online. Midco gives you four ways to do it, and all of them involve talking to someone.
Phone
Call 1-800-888-1300 and tell them you want to disconnect service. You’ll get routed to retention. They’ll make offers. If you’re done, stay firm and don’t negotiate.
Before you hang up, get a confirmation number and ask for email verification. Confirm your equipment return deadline and when your final bill will arrive.
Chat
Go to midco.com and use the live chat. You can request a full disconnection through chat, which avoids the phone hold time. Same process - confirm everything in writing before you close the window.
In-Person
Visit a Midco Customer Experience Center during business hours. Bring a photo ID and your account info. You can return equipment at the same time, which is the most efficient way to handle everything in one shot.
Text
Text 64326 (MIDCO) to reach support. You can initiate a cancellation this way, though they may redirect you to phone or chat for the actual disconnect.
Online
Not available. Midco does not process service disconnections through their website or app.
What It Costs
Nothing. Midco runs month-to-month with no contracts for residential customers. No early termination fee, period.
The billing situation is actually reasonable here. Midco prorates your final bill - you only pay for the days you had service. Prepaid fees for canceled services get refunded. This is how it should work everywhere, but most providers pocket the difference.
Equipment Return
What You Return
- Cable boxes
- Modems and routers
- Remote controls
- Power cords
If you own your own modem or router, keep it. Only Midco-provided equipment goes back.
How to Return It
Midco Customer Experience Center - walk in during business hours with your equipment and ID. You get a receipt on the spot. This is the safest option.
UPS with prepaid label - call Midco and request a prepaid shipping label. It takes 3-5 days to arrive by mail, and UPS ground shipping can take up to 2 weeks to reach Midco. Factor that into your timeline.
Deadline
Midco’s legal terms say 5 calendar days after disconnection. In practice, equipment charges don’t appear on your account until 14 days out, and they’re reversed once Midco receives the gear. Don’t push it - aim for 14 days at the outside.
Unreturned Equipment Fees
Midco charges for any equipment not returned after the grace period. Specific fees vary by device. Get a receipt for everything you return - photograph the equipment and note serial numbers before handing it over.
After You Cancel
Final bill arrives within 5-7 business days of disconnection. It includes prorated charges through your last day of service, minus any refund for prepaid amounts. No surprises if you returned everything on time.
Confirmation should come by email after your cancellation is processed. If it doesn’t show up within 48 hours, call back.
Reactivation is available if you change your mind. Contact Midco to reconnect, though new-customer pricing may not apply if you’ve had service recently.
Common Problems
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| Hold times on phone | Try live chat at midco.com or visit a Customer Experience Center in person |
| Retention pressure | Stay firm. Say you’ve already made your decision and don’t need to hear offers |
| UPS label never arrived | Call back after 5 business days. Better yet, just return equipment in person |
| Equipment charges after return | Call immediately with your receipt and serial numbers. Charges are reversed once equipment is confirmed received |
| Charged for full month after canceling | Midco prorates, so this shouldn’t happen. If it does, call and request an itemized breakdown - you’re owed a refund for unused days |
| Can’t cancel online | Correct. Phone, chat, text, or in-person only. No self-service disconnection |
